(hereditary) High Cholesterol

Hansen My wife has cholesterol and we want to have children
soon but I'm afraid to. I need to know if they will for sure
be born with cholesterol and if yes what are the risks I'm

Daniel,
Thanks for your email. I would be glad to answer your question,
but I need you to please clarify your wife's condition. Does
she have familial (hereditary) high cholesterol. If she does,
she is at greater risk of heart disease, however, there is
as good a chance that your children will not carry the genes
as the chance that they will. I would not let this stop me
from having children.
