Here are
my numbers; CHOL=244, TRI=99, HDL=84, LDL=140, CHOL/HDL RATIO=2.9
Even though my CHOL and LDL are high am I O.K. with my ratio
being so low? No other risk factors. My doctor wants me to
do it with diet. What are the side effects of your drug? Nancy

Your Total Cholesterol to HDL ratio puts you in the Very
Low Risk for heart disease, eventhough your total Cholesterol
level and LDL are high. You are blessed with a healthy genes.
With no other risk factors, I would agree with you doctors
that you should simply focus on your diet to lower your total
cholesterol. You may want to eliminate red meat and dairy
products and eat food that lower cholesterol for 3 months
and then retest your cholesterol levels.
