AXIETY
QUESTION:
I have been suffering
from chest pains, and strange feelings in the chest when I am half
asleep, or just drifting off. I wake up constantly with a start,
like a panic and a deep sense of gloom or fear. The strange thing
about it all is that I am fine before I go to sleep. I have a history
of emotional problems, do you think that it is a deep routed problem
that is causing this? If so what can I do to help the subconscious
feelings that appear to wake me up and disturb my sleep. I hope
you can help Marrieanne
ANSWER:
Dear
Marrieanne,
Thanks for your email. Your symptoms are not too uncommon. They
are most frequently due to nervous system / adrenal fatigue. Rather
than producing a consistent and well regulated flow of neurohormones
your system is producing irregular bursts of neurohormones. The
chest symptoms are most likely due to excessive norepinephrine which
causes your heart to race, quiver, or palpitate. The panic that
you feel in the middle of the night is most likely due to adrenal
dysfunction. The bioactive time for the adrenal glands is approximately
3AM. When they come on they release too much adrenaline (epinephrine),
which causes you to feel panic, fear and gloom.
I would recommend that you test your neurohormones and supplement
your adrenal glands and the building blocks necessary to produce
the appropriate balance of neurohormones.
